We used Waimanaaki during Easter 2008 for a whanau reunion for Kahutiaterangi Paku descendants. There were five generations and 128 registered. Many had travelled from Australia, South Island and various location in the North Island.
The facilities were ideal particularly for the purpose of catering for the various ages, from kaumatua to newborn babies. The accommodation options meant that kaumatua were able to use the lodge and/or the small cottages and whanau groups using the bunkrooms.
The hall and dining room were perfect for the activities held and the close proximity to the beach allowed activities to be conducted there as well. Having lifeguards on duty was ideal for the number of young ones that went swimming.
Without exception, everyone loved the time at Waimanaaki.
