About Us

Waimanaaki is an excellent getaway destination for any group.

It is a perfect venue for school groups, sports groups, church retreats, business team building retreats, conferences and family reunions.

Situated at Riversdale Beach, 55kms south-east of Masterton on the Wairarapa’s eastern coast, it’s a wonderful choice for people who enjoy swimming, diving, fishing or simply enjoying an unspoilt beach environment. See the location map.

Riversdale Beach has consistently good surf conditions and is sheltered by the natural barrier of the Tararua Ranges. Both ends of the 4km stretch of beach have large areas that are ideal for snorkelling or gathering kaimoana(seaweed). In addition whitebait can be caught at the mouth of the nearby Motuwaireka River.

Within the beach village there are tennis courts, a playground, golf course and a general store. The beach swimming area is patrolled in summer by the local surf lifesaving club.

Waimanaaki, only two minutes walk from the beach, provides all of the facilities needed to enjoy your stay in beautiful, peaceful Riversdale Beach.
